What a Session With Jake is Like

Sessions at Internal Wisdom Therapy are 50-60 minutes long. To begin, we will have an intake session where we will get to know one another and decide on the therapy goals you want to work towards. Prior, to intake, I also am open to scheduling a free 15 minute consultation. From there, we will work on those goals by discussing what is going on in your life. I often adhere to the idea that we can be in exploration, insight, or the action stage. We can decide which stage it feels like will help us begin. I will blend cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy into a client centered approach.

Often times, we will work to build awareness of what is causing or contributing to any stress. We will work on mood regulation and skills to help build emotional regulation. And we will explore root causes of issues and anything else that feels related in order to best equip you for life’s challenges.
